Leader: KAELYN STEWART
Our nature journaling field trips are back! You don’t have to be an artist or a writer to get closer to birds and nature with a notebook and pen. Kaelyn will guide us through exercises that will sharpen our observational skills and expand our personal experience with nature in the beautiful, lakeside setting of Gilbert Run Park.
On our fairly easy walk to a peaceful spot to journal, we could traverse some slightly hilly areas with exposed tree roots. Comfortable walking shoes recommended.
RSVP required at Signup Genius.
Workshop is free. Open to all ages 10 and above. Sketchbook and pen will be provided, along with blankets for sitting on the ground. You are welcome to bring a folding chair and binoculars if you wish.
Directions: Gilbert Run Park is eight miles east of La Plata on Route 6. Enter main parking lot and look for us beneath a hand-held Southern Maryland Audubon logo sign. Restroom facilities available at the park.
